In bkk weekend market there is a sign saying to beware of pick pockets, ( put there by the pick pockets I think) when people see it they automatically feel to see if their wallet is in place, thus tipping off the pick pockets where the wallet is located.
also, google jet ski scam in thailand for some real informative reading.

This is very useful information. I am glad to see that my home country of Ireland wasn’t singled out but I am sure there are hacks everywhere.
