I enjoy using Air Miles simply to redeem against groceries and gas but I have seen great redemptions for car rentals. It is a high minimum spend for the bonus but it has some nice benefits for the first year with no annual fee. I wouldn’t use this after the minimum spend has been reached as other cards would provide a higher return.

The Red Cross is having a promotion where you can earn 20 Aeroplan miles (or Scene points, if that’s more your style) per $1 donated.

This is a pretty amazing return (40% back at a $0.02 valuation), and for a great cause. The caveat is that you aren’t able to get a tax receipt for these donations, though for most people it will still work out favourably.
